Ever since my son was diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder over 20 years ago, I have spent countless hours visiting doctors and therapists, and trying every possible avenue to heal my son.  I have read literally hundreds of books, and tried dozens of diets and filled countless notebooks with notes and observations.

And I feel very blessed to say that I have been privileged to heal my son of ASD.

Well, biomed and related treatments have come a long, long way in those 20 years.  Before this sickness of ASD entered my family’s life, I was a corporate trainer.  Now that we have finally achieved a stable family with stable health, I felt it was time to put pen to paper and share with all of you what worked for us, and what didn’t.

Back when I began, along with so many other women like me, there were no teachers, no map.  The doctors didn’t understand this problem any better than we mothers did–and sometimes even less.  Often the doctors fought us every step of the way, content to shuttle our children off into the world of therapists and IEPs and group homes as adults.

It is turning out that the answers to ASD are quite different than what we thought those many years ago.  While yes, things like vaccinations and antibiotics have played a big part in the damage, the puzzle has proven to be more complex than just one or two variables.

But I think that, in just the last few years, we have begun to understand the root problems.  And yes, there are many!

Bob Jones, a wonderful man of God, once said to his students, “I want my ceiling to be your floor.”  He was encouraging the many young people he had taught to LEARN from his experiences, so that their walk would be easier than his was.  This is what I hope all of you, the younger generation of mothers, will do with the experiences of those of us who have gone before you.  For over 20 years, we’ve fought a war, a war for our children–but that war is not over yet.  We need to pass the baton to you, so you can continue this fight.  Take courage, warrior mothers!  We have carved out a path for you, and are here to run alongside of you as you run your race.

I have every hope that your children’s generation will be known as the generation that conquered autism.  And if they do, it will be because of YOU–their warrior mothers.

We have learned so much.  Your path will be much smoother.  But the job is not done–we have pieces of the puzzle, but cannot yet see the final picture. Let’s work together to get all of us over those final mountains, to the greener pastures I know are just on the other side.

So that’s what I hope to contribute to with this web page.  Let my ceiling be your floor.  Let me share the best information, the best interventions, the best advice I’ve found over the years.  Use the wonderful research out there to build a healthy, happy child.

The best is yet to be.
